Is this an insult to every American Black person? Being gay is a choice. Being black is not. Its disgusting how some don't want to even try to understand black's, but are ready to compare their plight to that of American blacks. Share your opinion.

You are right Stevie. Gay is not the new black. There isn't any comparison except for both at one time or another fighting for their freedom (rights). However, a gay person can choose to keep their sexual preference in doors. While a black person can't stay indoors hiding their color. We have never had the choice of keeping who we are as a people under wraps, so to speak. We've been judged on the color of our skin (which by the way isn't always black like the crayon). I can understand gay people wanting more rights, but stop tagging it with black people. We of all people, are able to appreciate the differences of others no matter what their race, creed , or religion. We do know what it is like to be sacrificially judged, tortured, and left out of the loop due to us not choosing to be black, but yet are proud of who we are as a people.
Little Man, thank you for your comments. You are correct that we can't hide, and shouldn't hide, but somewhere down the line we need to loose the 'black' title. We are Americans. If you are from Africa, be an African American. If you're from English, be a British American. No American should be a minority. Then when special interest groups like homosexuals or some other extremist groups wants special consideration, them become the minority.
You are right about dropping the "black" title. I know my ancestors are from some part of Africa, but who knows where. I am a true blue American and proud to be!!! Black has such a negative disposition. Hell, just look in the dictionary! My brothers out there please take a look for yourselves. Education is a stronger key to freedom than The Statue of Liberty.
